i was watching shrek but my grandma came in and changed the channel this is an outrage

the censored versions of the blade movies are great bc you got hardened badass vampires and vampire hunters saying “heck” and “darn”

i really want to watch and like elementary bc it looks like a really good, smart, funny, inclusive show!!! it’s just

i can’t get over my initial bias over having watson genderbended bc it feels like they saw the closeness between him and sherlock and decided to change watson to a woman so any potential tension would be nice and straight idk idk

and there’s also that it takes place in america and watson is also american like..with all these changes it doesn’t feel like sherlock holmes it feels like a completely original detective show that they just slapped the name onto

lucy liu is an amazing, gorgeous actress and it’s not like i’m angry at her i hope to god no one takes this as me being misogynistic and/or racist i just?? like it best when modern adaptations try to be as close to the original work as possible
