A little overlooked fact by a lot of fans: after Mondo died, Naegi states that it’s easy to tell Ishimaru hasn’t been sleeping or eating. In fact, the only reason Kirigiri allowed Ishimaru near the locker room was because Naegi said he wanted to make sure Ishimaru didn’t starve.
(Another little fun fact: when an animal wants to die, it stops eating.)

Ishi’s life is pretty much dictated after his grandfather’s fall. But after meeting Mondo, who behaves like the world is his, he might learn a new meaning of freedom ;D
Ishi [Nishikigoi (Kohaku)]: Ishi’s grandfather was formerly the head of his community until a failure led to his downfall. His whole family was then reduced to guarding the outskirts of the area they live in. Spending his whole life thinking of a way to get back up, an opportunity shows up when being able to capture Mondo means that he’ll gain his community’s trust again. He’s then set to do that without fail. However, living in his small community all his life, he had no experience nor knowledge of the waters beyond. (more fish/koi ref >u>)
Mondo [Killer Whale (Offshore)]: Leader of a huge gang of aggressive Mermen, eyes set on ruling all of the seas. Experienced, had been to many places, and had been involved in lots of fights. Also takes pleasure in causing trouble and sinking ships. Cares for his gang’s well-being a lot. High prize on his head among the mermaids and mermen.

I did a short Ishimondo/zokufuuki/what have you comic. I made my own shoujo bubble brush just for this.
They’re dating secretly but it’s absolutely not a secret at all because they end up elevating their voices when having any conversation and so their classmates kinda just have to put up with it o/ They go on thinking it’s a super secret secret the whole time like a couple of idiots
