Today, 1.28.2013, according to the Death Note anime timeline, takes place the following events:

  • Near releases Misa Amane and sends her to the Imperial Hotel.
  • In an abandoned warehouse, Light Yagami and the KIRA Investigation Team come face-to-face with Near and the SPK.
  • Teru Mikami, also at the warehouse, writes down in the (fake) Death Note the names of all those present, excluding himself and Light Yagami.
  • The persons whose names have been written down do not die and Teru Mikami is seized by the SPK members.
  • Faced with overwhelming evidence, Light Yagami admits that he is KIRA.
  • Teru Mikami commits suicide.
  • Light Yagami is killed by the power of Ryuk’s Death Note.
  • Ryuk returns to the Shinigami Realm.

omg this is probably one of the coolest things about the death note manga that i always really appreciated and i don’t think i’ve ever gotten around to talking about it

i absolutely LOVE how light’s eyes changed throughout the series, and it was esp noticeable when he lost his memory and then regained it

but even then it was this gradual thing and it was very subtle up to that point but i thought it was ssssoooooooooo neat in showing how light lost all of his innocence and was just this shell of hateful and malevolent thoughts and intentions and you could always tell the sort of state he was in by the way his eyes were drawn and it was just really really REALLY COOL OKAY
