1. his name translates roughly as “how to befriend nature.” it’s a mouthful, so even his clanmates tend to shorten it to “falon” or even just “fal.” when meeting anyone new he introduces himself by his full name and fully expects non-elves to mangle the pronunciation.
2. he is always barefoot. in colder climates like emprise du lion he’ll put on insulating footwraps, but he staunchly refuses to wear anything heavier. because of his thick soles it’s easier and more comfortable to hike, climb, and sneak around, especially in the wilds, without anything restricting his feet. josephine practically had to wrestle him into a pair of boots for halamshiral and he spent the evening off-balance and fuming (until the florianne fight when he finally tore them off and chucked them at her).
3. he has a strong affinity for animals. during his childhood he was in line to become an apprentice to the halla keeper, but his skills in hunting were even greater and he dedicated himself to that instead. still, he is capable of calming and befriending a variety of different animals, and he’s considered an essential member of the party in the hinterlands and storm coast when they’d like to avoid angering bears.
4. he sleeps on the ground. soft mattresses are very uncomfortable for him after being accustomed to sleeping outside on furs his entire life, so he tends to spend his nights in the skyhold garden. this causes some trouble when he gets more seriously involved with dorian since their sleeping habits are so incompatible.
5. his accent is distinctly dalish (aka welsh). he makes no attempt to hide it and will in fact play it up in the presence of stuffier nobles.
